Nightly rates (tariff fees) for Bhutan
Tariff fees vary depending upon the group size, or number of people traveling together, and apply to all foreigners other than Indian nationals. And although the nightly tariff appears quite high, it in fact is quite reasonable as it covers nearly all expenses while in the country including all meals and water/tea/coffee, the best available tourist-standard accommodations or farmhouse stays as you prefer, internal transportation in a private SUV, complimentary cell phone for use while in the country, an experienced guide and driver, and personal attention with little "extras" for the entirety of your journey. Further, we handle your airfare arrangements, your visa, and special route and trekking permits as required to ensure a worry-free holiday experience.
Kindly note, in keeping with Bhutan's GNH ("Gross National Happiness") policy, a portion of the nightly tariff goes to the government which in turn is used to fund free medical care, free education, and other welfare schemes throughout the Kingdom. Essentially, each visitor contributes to the betterment of the lives of the Bhutanese people.
NOTES: Effective January 1, 2008 a US dollar devaluation adjustment surcharge of US $20 per person per night will be in effect (included in the rates given below).
THE RATE INCREASE ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED TO TAKE EFFECT 1 JULY 2009 HAS BEEN DEFERRED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE IN RESPONSE TO THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS. PLEASE NOTE THE BELOW RATES ARE APPLICABLE UNTIL OTHERWISE ANNOUNCED.
